Responding to the Budget, Phil White of Patriotic Millionaires UK said: "It's shameful that the political class is obsessed with talking about tax cuts while ignoring the desperate need for investment in this country and the overwhelming public support for it. While the abolition of the non-dom status is a start, it does not meet the necessary ambition to generate a stronger, fairer, more sustainable economy for this country. From cuts in capital gains tax to the complete absence of any introduction of further taxes on wealth, this Budget is one that has prioritised political gameplay and short term wins at the expense of our future - and the richest of us won't be picking up the bill. Those of us outside of Westminster know we deserve so much more."
